99 Homes Movie review Rap

Rap

99 Homes is a movie
about a man who was evicted
from his home

So he tried to get some money
of his own
he was offered employment
by his evictor
so he worked with him

In the system of greed he falls

He evicted people
then in the end
became arrested
to a crime he admitted

While the boss carried on
with his multi-million endeavor
profiting from people's misfortune

Let's put myself as the director
let's recreate the main character's role
after all this is a movie
that we can recreate instantly

Movies can be a tool
for change to occur that is best for all

we act out
the changes we see
then it becomes reality

Let's give the main character
 a free home
everyone a monthly income
that they don't have to work for

plus a job in construction
for the characters
if they need more

His son investigates
how one builds a structure
his mom expresses herself
and does what is best for all

While the real estate mogul
forgives himself
 changes his ways
using tools that work

Living income is the key

The lesson is clear
If we abuse our share
we will all lose

See what is possible
a movie can be a tool
when you stand
for what is best for all

Plot

Recently unemployed single father Dennis Nash, a construction worker in Orlando, Florida, is evicted together with his mother Lynn, a hairdresser, and young son Connor from the foreclosed home they share. Callous real estate operator Rick Carver is in charge of the eviction, and police officers who provide the enforcement call him "boss." Dennis and his family move into a shabby cramped motel room. Dennis goes to Rick's office and tries to take back his tools stolen by Rick's men. Rick sees the confrontation and is impressed by Dennis' gumption. He offers Dennis work as a repairman at his properties and Dennis accepts. Dennis soon becomes Rick's assistant, helping to carry out evictions himself and set up real estate schemes that exploit government and banking rules to the disadvantage of struggling home owners. He starts accepting large payments of money (in exchange for the work he is performing for Mr. Carver) and dips into the glamorous lifestyle in which Rick indulges.
Almost as soon as he begins working for Mr. Carver, Dennis tells him to keep the cheques he offers (as payment for the work he performs for the real estate broker) in order for him to one day soon buy back the house he was evicted from by Mr. Carver but Rick tells him to keep his money for now since it is not enough anyway.
An evicted home owner living in the same motel as Dennis and his family recognizes and threatens him. Dennis reacts by making a deal with Rick to buy back his family's old house, but the legal process prevents them from moving in immediately, so he decides to get his son out of the motel room immediately by selling the family home and buying a much more luxurious home instead.
When Dennis brings his mother and son to the luxurious house and informs them he bought it and sold their old house so they could get out of the motel room immediately, his mother doesn't believe at first that he has bought the house. Then Dennis' mother is shocked by the loss of their long-time home and is repulsed as she realizes Dennis got his new-found wealth by helping him victimize honest homeowners who have financial problems. Even Dennis' son is not happy with the arrangement. Lynn and Connor leave Dennis to stay with her brother.
Rick puts together a multi-million dollar real estate deal, but it is jeopardized by a legal case brought by a home owner he is trying to evict. Dennis and the home owner were friendly acquaintances, but the man turned hostile toward Dennis when he saw him become part of Rick's eviction business. Dennis obeys Rick's order to deliver a forged document to court that defeats the home owner's legal case. When police try to evict the home owner, the distraught man fires a rifle at them. Fearing that the man, who has a wife and two children, will likely be killed in a shootout, Dennis confesses aloud at the scene to his complicity in delivering the forged paperwork. The home owner surrenders and Dennis is also arrested, but the well-connected Rick, standing in the background, is not.

Big Short : Film Review Rap

Rap

Big Short is a movie
about the housing market
and fraud that is based on profit

When the Housing Market booms
or when it doesn't
we get our profit

We get a smile on our lips
winning is the illusion
eventually coming to the realization

The economy will collapse
so we will all lose
self-interest is not the key

Focusing on profit
is not the best
energy see-saw
our body gets stressed

So we have to consider
why we do what we do
for we all will suffer

Free housing for all
is what we need

Money is not see-saw of energy
Money is about man and his expression
aligned to the expression of the earth

Realizing that the house is built
from the trees
that come from the earth

Just as the air we breathe
bills are made of cotton
coins are metals too

Gratitude to the earth
I can see our equal value
burst the ego bubble
and reclaim our real value

Life = 1+1 =2

Whiplash: Film Review Rap

Rap

Whiplash is a movie
that's about you and me
let's learn from it as a family

Question why we need bullies
to succeed
the fear to fall is behind it all

Self-forgive the fear
breathe and bring yourself back here
express yourself

Use commonsense
bypass the rules
and see for yourself

Tap on surfaces
hear all the sound in the universe
realize they all have a tune
we can change the rules

For not one sound is out of tune
without judgment
we can see clearly
it's not just do re mi baby

Whiplash Plot

===
Andrew Neiman is a first-year jazz student at the prestigious Shaffer Conservatory in New York. He has been playing drums from a young age and aspires to become one of the greats like Buddy Rich. Famed conductor Terence Fletcher discovers Andrew practicing in the music room late one night and eventually invites him into his studio band as the alternative for core drummer Carl Tanner. Fletcher is abusive toward his students, mocking and insulting them; when the band rehearses the Hank Levy piece "Whiplash" and Andrew struggles to keep the tempo, Fletcher hurls a chair at him, slaps him, and berates him in front of the class.
At a jazz competition, Andrew accidentally misplaces Carl's sheet music; as Carl cannot play without it, Andrew steps in, telling Fletcher that he can perform "Whiplash" from memory. After a successful performance, Fletcher promotes him to core drummer. Soon after, Fletcher recruits Ryan Connolly, the core drummer from Andrew's former lower-level class. Andrew believes Connolly is the less talented drummer, and is infuriated when Fletcher promotes him to core. Determined to impress Fletcher, Andrew practices until his hands bleed and breaks up with his girlfriend Nicole, believing she will hold him back.
Fletcher tearfully reveals in class that a talented former student of his, Sean Casey, has died in a car accident. The band rehearses "Caravan", but Ryan struggles with the tempo. Fletcher auditions Andrew, Ryan and Carl for hours while the class waits outside, and finally gives the position to Andrew.
On the way to a jazz competition, Andrew's bus breaks down. He rents a car but arrives late and realizes he left his drumsticks at the car rental office. After an argument with Fletcher, Andrew drives back to retrieve the drumsticks. As he speeds back, his car is hit by a truck. He crawls from the wreckage and arrives on stage badly injured. When he struggles to play "Caravan" due to his injuries, Fletcher stops the band mid-performance to tell Andrew he is "done". Andrew attacks Fletcher in front of the audience and is expelled from Shaffer.
Andrew meets with a lawyer representing the parents of Sean Casey. The lawyer explains that Sean actually hanged himself, having suffered anxiety and depression after joining Fletcher's class; Sean's parents want to prevent Fletcher from teaching. Andrew agrees to testify anonymously and Fletcher is fired.
Months later, Andrew has abandoned music and is working in a restaurant while applying to different colleges. He walks past a jazz club and sees Fletcher performing on stage. Fletcher invites him for drinks and explains that he pushes his students hard so they might achieve greatness. He invites Andrew to perform at a festival concert with his band. Andrew agrees and invites Nicole, but she is in a new relationship and declines.
On stage at the jazz festival, moments before the performance, Fletcher reveals that he knows Andrew testified against him. He leads the band in a new piece Andrew has never heard or rehearsed, and he finds no sheet music for it in his folder. Unable to follow the cues without sheet music, Andrew struggles through it and leaves the stage humiliated. As Fletcher addresses the audience, Andrew returns to the stage and interrupts with the "Caravan" drum intro, leading the rest of the band. Infuriated, Fletcher reluctantly follows. When Andrew ends the performance with an extravagant drum solo, Fletcher and Andrew exchange smiles.

This is a video of what I call Group Word Tarot Reading at our Speech Club Event.

I challenged myself to speak impromptu using 4 word cards . I asked 4 people from the audience to pick a card each from my word tarot deck. Then, i spoke about the words they chose (which i did not know beforehand) in a speech.

Happy New Year Rap

The new year is coming up
do not look and see the past
but create the moment here and now
for the past
is done

Make the past and future
equally relevant
create tomorrow here and now
for the future of mankind

Let it be known
and realize you are creating
the future here and now

Watch what you say
when you speak
words
they are symbols
as letters
they become words
sentences become paragraphs
sounding off the truth

See ourselves
see the world
create the change in our words
align with your deeds
and your thoughts
you are ready to celebrate
happy new year to you all

The year is not new
but change in you
makes the old new
so celebrate
the change
that will happen
in the world too

Celebrate the change
not the luck
nor happiness
nor money lo

Expose the self
enjoy your expression
embrace in unison
the alignment of the mind, body
& being
all working in unison
for what is best for all

world change then will have to come
from giving everyone
a living income
plus work they need
to get it done

so we can celebrate
the new year that is to come
accompanied
by change that matter
within and without

we can see the dawn
self expression is the call
it cannot be suppressed
for change is a guarantee
when there is living income you see

see the liberation
i am in ce-lebration

romance is not a necessity
as long as you embrace
the cells within your body
say hello to the organs

hello liver
hello heart
i am grateful you are here

celebrate the phenomenon
sing the song
even you are out of tune
or out of pitch
even if the tone is high or low

damn we do not have to
obey the rules

express yourself
sing in unison
sound off and yell
and express yourself
speak and sing
see the melody
that exist in silence
of our oneness and equality

the ears cannot hear for it is busy
in the mind we exist
in an alternate reality
figuring out the right pitch
the right tone
the right note
for it is a musical pattern
done for the popularity award baby

so one can earn money
in exchange for the singing personality

Happy New Year

The Immigrant Zombie RAP : UNT-RAP-ZZIN

UNT-RAP-ZZIN

The Immigrant Zombie

Immigration to another country
in desperation we flee
what happened to the land
that the earth allotted to me?

I am supposed to survive
in my country
with all the amenities
you enjoy in your country

The greed of some
who have taken more than
what is given
to all equally

Created a lack for others
they cannot enjoy
a life with dignity

Do not be greedy
forgive yourself and see
that the consequence outflow
is massive in degree

Unequal distribution
we do not have a solution
but to flee to another country
who has more
in terms of jobs, health care
 and social security

We do not have much of this
in our country

The multinational companies
build a business in my country
to extract energy from the sea
to earn more money you see

Then donates to the unfortunate
to make up for making money from the
earth's resource
we call the sea

They made sure the guilt will not be felt
they got the media to take pictures
 to make it look
as if its good
then provide food for the guests
pictures taken
the guilt disappears

Some leaders hide their face
and take the money in secret
given by these businesses

It never reached the poor
the pocket is still empty
when they closed the door
and allegedly took the money

They took them to jail
and they call this the solution

I say No
repair it from the source
for tomorrow
someone will do the same
and the problem will
be a vicious cycle

It will be inherited
by the next generation
and the solution
will not be known

Because the band-aid was on
no one can see the wound
they layered the band-aid
now it turned into a cancer
that multiplies uncontrollably
in the country's body

They try to put another leader
hoping to fix the cancer
another band-aid was provided
and now they say
he has balls

Unknowingly creating
the same cancer as before
the whole body
as a whole
gasps for breath
like a living dead

A zombie
 alive but dead
when the body's life force
is absent

Walking here equally
enjoying each others company
that is the life force of society
take them away and you will be
an immigrant zombie

You migrate to another country
to ask for a job
so you can survive
the same company
that took energy from your country's sea
will be giving you charity

help for the poor zombie
who now wears a smile
because he's got lots of money
education plus a job
savings to give his family

making up for the loneliness
of being separated from the group
who watched you grow
and stand on your own
lulling you to sleep when you were born

now everyone is happy
they celebrate and jump in glee
they call this the solution

but i ask myself
is this really?

what about the cancer
that is the consequence
outflow of not taking responsibility
to give your country
a living income guarantee
plus an incentive to work for more
when needed by the people
so they will not migrate for money
to live in dignity
in their own country

wearing nice clothes
and shoes
eating food that is delicious
they walk with grace
smile brimming on their face
money in their pockets
they've got certificates

but deep within
they are dying
like a zombie that is smiling
only they cannot see
 they are the immigrant zombie

they ask help from the zombie hierarchy
to survive in another zombie country
where the living dead
celebrates its joys
with money aplenty

the zombie hierarchy in another country
employs the immigrant zombie
and gives them money for they too
needs an employee
they take advantage of each other you see

then they say
you got your education
you look able so come and work for me
that way we will enjoy
each other's company

for I have helped you and you have helped me
we are brothers and sisters
who care
don't you see?

But i disagree
this is self-diminishment you see

I say no, thank you
I will take my life back
I do not want to be the living dead
how can we enjoy each other
when I am an immigrant zombie
in your country
and you are in a zombie hierarchy

we do not even know
that this is a consequence outflow
and not the solution that we say so

to be content and call this happiness
isn't rightfully so
this is self-diminishment
in disguise you see

we have to hit rock bottom
to bring life to the zombie
and see the illusion
 self-forgive
have an intimate moment
with yourself
then when you are ready
to be reborn
and see that the solution
is standing for what is best for all

rejoice and celebrate
for you have seen the real solution
Living income guaranteed
for dignified life to be restored
do not pretend to help
when you cannot give ones equal share
that amount of money you give
is alms for the poor
do not call it help
for it isn't so
it is out of pity
because of the superiority
and inferiority in society
this HEL-l in Peoples lives
we should turn
to be the HEL-ipad
a P-latform where we see each other
as equals

we are a part of this one life
zombies we are not

we are the breath in this body
in awareness we should move our body

do not forget that walking as equals
is the solution that we seek

do not give it up

do not diminish yourself

pull yourself up
take your life back
do not be the living dead
you are here as part of this one life
be the helipad - the platform where we equally stand

I Am Not an Immigrant Nor A Refugee

LYRICS
===
The migrant is a refugee
we too were forced to leave our country
not because of war, religion or politics
like a refugee

we do it to earn money
to survive
in another country
where food and money is a plenty

in our country
corruption is a guarantee
theft is part of society

and becoming a beauty queens
becomes the veil
that covers up
reality

help me temporarily to
sort out the crime and inequality

But give us tools that work
like a Living income guarantee
plus a guarantee to work if i need more
freedom of expression to the fore

give me something temporarily
that heals the cause
so I can heal myself as a whole
not a bandaid that will
cover up the hole in the wall

Do not interpret the smile
but look through my thoughts

Do not give me a refuge
a home away from home
for i am not a refugee

I am a human
just like everybody

I am not here to beg for pity or money
for you not to feel guilty
for creating the guns
and the war
that gives you more money

give me back my home
that was taken forcibly

We are citizens of the earth

divide the land equally
create a home for everybody
where we are given the body
or where we choose to live in dignity

free of chaos and poverty
because of inequality
free from guns and abuse
We do not want charity
all we want is dignity

to live as your equal
for the earth is our home

take your share
but leave others
what is rightfully theirs

I am not a refugee

It was you who took my home
and now you want to help me
pretending to give me back my dignity
by giving me work
in exchange for money

I do not need your pity
all i need is dignity as a human
that lives on earth
where all are given land equally

the land where we grow food
and fetch water
to quench our thirst
when we sweat our brow

It is for all
we are the collective owners
so it is rightfully mine
as much as it is yours too

distribute rightfully so

let common sense
based on
oneness and equality
be the law

the primary principle
of what is best for all
lived so it will be so

self-interest will not carry us through

what is here as the breath
is the law
breathing each others breath
speaks equally so

ease the pain
of you and me
forced to migrate
looking for a dignified life
to ensue

we might smile
in front of you
as an ideal refugee
or a successful migrant
who earns lots of money
but that smile means
NO, thank you
I am claiming what is rightfully so

I am not an immigrant refugee
who works for money
to give me dignity

I am a citizen of the earth

The earth is my refuge
I deserve an equal share
for what it has given all
Equally
