The chocolate had been used in making confectionary, cakes etc. It is important that we see it as what it is - plant used as food that is part of the whole - that is life, rather than a separate entity - as plant, that either gives us pleasure or make us fat/sick which we have a love and hate relationship with based from the mind's idea of 'health' - which is 'freedom from disease', rather than a body, mind, breath. and social well-being.
