My Expanded Definition

The sensation that results when taste buds in the tongue and throat convey information about the chemical composition of a soluble stimulus
-
There is awareness of the sensation as what it is - as information about the chemical composition of a substance which can arouse the one perceiving it into action as it is being attached to an emotion or feeling that one created in ones mind - as an interpretation of the sensation rather than what the sensation really is.

When i was vegan, I attached the taste of animal meat for example to 'killing'' which makes me react to a meal that has animal meat in it and leave the table when presented with it feeling personally violated, while to a non vegetarian or non vegan the dish that has animal meat in it can be pleasant in taste and enjoyable as one has attached it to tasty meat dishes one ate in the past within ones mind.

The fact is, we can taste food without needing to judge them as having a 'bad taste or a good taste'.

We can release these memories and fears we have within our mind and see the taste of of food that we eat - forgive ourselves for interpreting their taste and prepare food for what it is - as a substance that nourish the body rather than think of it as a substance that gives pleasure to the mind.
