is information that may not provide physical evidence of a solution but when redefined and applied in ones living can provide evidence of a solution that is best for all.

Food: What is The REAL Problem?

This is a cake i tested in my kitchen that is low in sugar.

I planned to eat this with meat so I made it less sweet. It ended up having a taste I am not familiar with. The coconut flour I used also contributed to that. 

I was trying to make a cake that included meat. I was going to do that so i can make a cake that has more nutrition in it. Pork and beef has vitamin B12.

I put coconut flour plus eggs in this cake. I forgot what other ingredients I put in this cake.

I ended up not liking the taste of this cake because it has less sugar so it was bland and the texture was not what i expected.  I used another kind of flour - coconut flour, instead of wheat flour. I also wanted to make it gluten-free.

I ended up putting it in the refrigerator for a while and then threw most part of it away.

The reason I am sharing this cake is to point out how much food is wasted in the kitchen in the name of'right taste', 'right texture' and the 'right presentation'. I made this a year ago or so.

Waste starts in the kitchen.

 When we cook for a familiar or exotic taste thinking about what food should taste like or look like or smell like, we waste a lot of food stuff because it should be made according to some 'food rules' which we call culinary do's and don'ts.

A recipe has to be made this way or that way otherwise you did not do it the right way.

I am questioning recipe creation, and our need to eat for taste.

Feminine and Masculine: My Dad and Mom's Story

Mom Meeting Dad 

My mom's story about how she ended up marrying my Dad is interesting.

So, let's start,

'When she was 18, while having a school vacation in the country where my grandmother lived, she was invited to go to an island nearby. She was invited to attend a fiesta/feast for 1 week.

They rode a small boat and there were big waves in the sea. So, they went to a small island to avoid the big waves.

When they arrived, they went to town. That same night, my mom attended a basketball game where my dad was also present.

My mom said my dad was looking at her.

The next day she met my dad in the fiesta/feast again when she went there.

On the 3^rd day they met again.

After 5 days, my father sent all of them an invitation to have food with him where he worked. 

She and the rest of the group went to where my dad  was. He made makeshift huts and invited them all to stay for a day.

He was the engineer that managed the mine in that town so he made sure they were fed and had roof over their head.

According to my mom, food was abundant for everyone to enjoy. These included different kinds of fruits available in the island. There were also baskets of eggs and chicken.

When they were about to go home, my father, hired a small boat and went with my mom and the group in my mom’s town.

My father stayed in my mom’s town and stayed in one dormitory that belonged to my mom’s aunt.

He sent my grandmother gifts, like food stuff daily

My grandmother cannot say 'no' to that. She was a single mother surviving as a dressmaker.

He introduced himself to my grandmother and visited my mom every night. He stayed in my mom’s home town for a month

He was 19 years older than my mom at that time.

He introduced himself to my grandmother and visited my mom every night. He stayed in my mom’s home town for a month.

He asked my grandmother if he can marry my mom.My grandmother accepted and she asked my mom to marry him.

My mom said my dad asked my grandmother but my grandmother did not ask my mom to marry my dad.  My grandmother decided for her in her behalf.

They got married and then my father made a house in town for them to live . It was the house I grew up in with one brother and one sister.'

That was the story my mom gave me.

When I was growing up I heard stories like this over and over again which gave me the impression that love means there is a man like my dad waiting to save me. I believed it was real and I believed that a 'fairy tale' like my mom and dad’s story happened.

Talking about Fairy Tales, I associated their story with the story of Cinderella.

That made me really believe that fairy tales do happen in real life. 

I did not see that I associated the words 'father', 'mother', 'men' , women, 'fairy tale', 'love' and 'real' together in  a word matrix - in my mind.

This is why it is difficult for me to see relationships as what it is. Imagine defining the word 'relationship' within the word, 'fairy tale'. I was searching for the Prince to have a 'good relationship'. 

Let's play with phonetics for a moment,

It is like 'to be able to 'RELAT-e' to someone, I need to wait for my ideal man before I can board as the 'I' 'ON' a 'SHIP' to be complete.'

I am expanding the meaning of the word 'RELATIONSHIP' to mean 'RELAT-e' to 'I' as the ''O-ther' 'as 0-N-e' as 'S-elf 'as my other 'HIP'. 

This means I see the other person i am with in a relationship as a mirror of me and as an equal walking this life with me. 

His misgivings are the same misgivings i have within me, so I can use that as a reference point of what i need to work on. 

The plus points that I see in him are what I should give to myself.

I then stop defining myself within lack constantly trying to complete myself by having a man  in a relationship. 

I learn to see him as my mirror and being that, I do not run away from him the moment we have a problem. 

As you can see, words can be used to expand ones understanding oneself and in the process, expand ourselves to our utmost potential.

Lessons I Learned From My Daughter's Visit: Money and Relationships

We arrived at Ashville, North Carolina after travelling for about  14 hrs. from Dallas, Texas. We arrived at the airport and was trying to find our way when someone shouted at me and waved her hand. I looked and saw my daughter.

I saw her and noticed that familiar face. Interestingly enough, she has some facial features that look like mine. We have not seen each other since 2002. It was nice to see her again.

Her employer sent her to America for training so they paid her fare and her hotel where she is now staying for 7 days. The hotel room was big. She had a king size bed with 4 plump pillows that are encased with a clean white pillow case. There were water bottles on the table top. The television was in front of the bed. There was a coffee maker on the other table. Inside the bathroom there were towels of different sizes, shampoo and soap ready for her to use.

Normally, it's very difficult to enter the US from the Philippines. This can also be very expensive since the dollar is higher in value than the Philippine peso. Only the Philippine elite can travel to the US. Since her employer is paying her travel expenses, money is now out of the question.

Let"s look at a different scenario and ask ourselves this question,

Given that we have a set amount of money we receive every month to pay for our basic necessities to survive just for being born in this world and in addition to that we receive an additional amount of money when we work and receive this guaranteed survival amenities from our country of origin, for both children and adults - would we still migrate?

Using commonsense, the answer will be - no, not as much as we do now, that we migrate to increase our chances of survival in terms of money.

I enjoy her being here but she had to leave her son in the Philippines with her aunt for a week to work here. Her son is being taken cared of by her aunt and that is not a problem.

I can see that there can be room for improvement  in terms of how we can live our life, express ourselves, do what we love to do, plus have better relationships if we work on how our ecosystem of money is structured

Mind Pattern

The fact is, without money we cannot have the basic necessities to survive. 

Here, I am looking at a belief that If I do not have money, I do not have a voice, therefore powerless.

Here, there is a desire to be pitied and to receive alms or charity.

Wanting to be pitied and accepting less than what we are worth, like alms or charity is not good enough. We are all parts of this one life so we have equal rights to the resources given to us equally by the earth - we have to speak up and rewrite this mind pattern and create a world that guarantees survival for all.

I will rewrite this pattern by using self-forgiveness, redefining words and writing a self-correction script - using a commitment statement to correct myself in every moment - when I see myself getting into this pattern.

What is Self-forgiveness? 

It is the process by which an individual forgives oneself for accepting and allowing self to separate from objective reality, releasing positive and negative value judgments such as good or bad, right or wrong, positive or negative - as subjective interpretations of reality regarding something or someone that leads to stability as breath. 

Self-forgiveness Statements:

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that I do not have a voice and that because I have no money, I am powerless - rather than see, realize and understand that money is distributed unequally - others receive more and others receive less - so it is for me to  assist and support a system where all have the basic necessities to survive - starting with a living income guarantee - supporting equality.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to desire to be pitied believing that that will make others give me a little bit of money so I can survive, instead of seeing and realizing that - I am giving myself a value that is less than life - by being someone who needs charity to survive - rather than giving myself a value equal to life - someone who is part of the whole - that is life, one who has the right to receive equal resources from the earth - and one who has the right to receive an amount of money that guarantees survival from birth to death.

Correction Script

I commit myself to blog and speak about the problems of inequality and the solutions available  -  to pave the way for a society that aligns its expression to the expression of life, where the main principle of life is the basis of its social policy and decisions - 'what is best for all'.

The Solution To Poverty In America

Poverty does not only exist in Asia, but also in America. This is what i found out in my 15 years of being in the US having seen the homeless in Broadway Street in Los Angeles and the homeless in New York, Arkansas, San Diego and Dallas.

Many people from the third world countries like where i came from, the Philippines, dream to go to America for a better life, but this is now a broken dream, as we can see in this documentary, with the middle class losing their jobs and their house plus children to feed and take care of,

The poverty rate in the Philippines according to statistics (which cannot be totally trusted) is from about 28-52%. I wrote something about this in my previous blog.

The poor is being given unemployment benefits for a limited period only:

'David Johnson, the chief of the Census Bureau's household economics division, estimated that unemployment benefits helped keep 1.7 million people out of poverty'

What we want to look at here is how we view life in this world. 

Why do we accept and allow poverty in our world system where poor people get benefits from the government only if they  fill out documents that determines whether or not they are qualified ?

The fact that we are all birthed here in this one life make us qualified to receive our share of the resources the earth is giving all equally.

We have to forgive ourselves for accepting and allowing inequality in this world system.

We have to stand up and see that Life is here and nature gives its resources equally for all.

The fact is that everyone has a right to get a Basic/Living Income, Guaranteed from birth to death,, they do not have to apply or be qualified for it, the fact that one is alive makes one qualified to receive it, because it is ones human right to live, survive and get the basic necessities one need to survive.

We do not need short term benefits, we need a Basic/Living Income, Guaranteed from birth to death.

We had been trying to provide solution to poverty for a long time? Why is poverty still here?

We miss the real problem.

We have to treat each other as equals and Not see the poor as people we can give alms to when we have money who will make us feel better about ourselves because we have what they do not have.

The solution is to nationalize resources and create dividends enough to pay a Basic/Living Income to the poor, the unemployed, the elderly and the uneducated

For the idea of Basic Income that is currently being proposed by various groups around the world to work, one needs to look at the whole point of resources within countries and the most effective way to bring about a source that will be able to provide the monetary resources for a Basic Income for everyone – so that each one has got a basic level of dignity – would be to Nationalize all the Resources – whether it is mining or production within a country – to structure the products produced and the resources produced through a pricing structure that produces enough profit so that such money is specifically dedicated to pay a Basic Income to everyone in the country.

This is how the shareholder becomes the citizen and therefore the citizen benefits from the shareholding and the Basic Income becomes the way that the profit of the business is utilized to help everyone. In this way, the Basic Income becomes possible, it is a form of socialism and it brings capitalism or the ownership principle of capitalism into a place where all citizens of the country become part of the basic capital, which is the basic resource that is then utilized for the benefit of all the citizens within the country.

This way the corporation = becomes government, the shareholder = the citizen, the profit = the Basic Income Guaranteed and you have financially sustainable basic solution to create integrity and to bring about the end of poverty within a country. From that perspective one can then develop business structures of competition, but there are certain things that are not part of competition: the human should not compete with each other to the extent where poverty is caused or where people are driven to starvation, or where people do not have homes or food – that is not competition, that is brutality and is completely unacceptable.

So this whole idea that competition and market forces ‘will sort it out,’ the evidence is quite clear: it’s not going to happen. What needs to happen is a directive action politically by people to bring about economic change, nationalize the necessary resources, make the citizens the shareholders, pay them as shareholders a Basic Income out of the profit, motivate them to buy from the products and the resources that are being nationalized because they are supporting their own business and that’s how we create a solution for Basic Income.

Some of the benefits of a Basic Income Guaranteed through the way we propose would be that in essence it is a redistribution of money which allows an interesting thing to take place: more people having money to spend on the basic things that are required for a decent life, will cause actually some of the corporations to make more money. There’ll be more money in the money supply therefore there will be economic growth and consequently, employment will be created and so people will be able to step into better positions and the benefits of such a scenario would bring about a positive growth within the whole system.
